Jaar are a Norse/Viking-based species and one of the most commonly appearing races in Age of Warscape. Power, strength, honor, and savagery are what make up a Jaar, and these attributes give them quite a reputation throughout the isles of Gaderon. Jaar are allied with the 2nd Legion, and are a selectable species for the 2nd Legion faction.

History

Being one of the first races to unite the 2nd Legion, they might be seen as the "leader race". They are led by Warlord Bjorin Thykesnev. They predate to ancient times when they lived in a continent named "Strog'ar". When an ancient tribe left them because of their savagery (Later becoming Humans), they would see them as weak. Much later, most Jaar become obsessed with Necromancy. Raising their beloved, Cjorg Thykesnev, father of Bjorin, stands up to them. Despite his efforts, he is pushed and exiled out of Strog'ar. Taking his men with him, they set out for a new land. Their pilgrimage will not be in vain, as they reach the Southern tip of Gaderon. The Jaar named it "Fjordinheim". Now, they live on the same continent of the once-Jaar race known as Human. The two soon go to war, as they were attacked by humans and thought as beasts. (It has been generations since they have seen an actual Jaar.) The Jaar would soon unite with their allies to form the 2nd Legion, beginning the First War of Gaderon. Glory at any cost! Long live the Jaar!

Physical Description

The Jaar are very Norse/Viking-based. With a weight of 280 lbs., and an astounding 7'9''-9'8'', these giants are gifted with strength and power. Warpaint is put on those who are older and have proved their worth. Facial hair grows very quickly for the Jaar. Braids are often used when they get long enough. Some people grow them for respect and compete.

Personality

The Jaar still carry the savagery that they did in Strog'ar. However, they should a balance in Honor. Jaar customs revolve around Honor. They fall quick to anger, but know what honor is. They believe that when you are given the Warrior's Death in battle, you ascend to the great plane of Valhal, where the hunt does not end and you can feast for eternity.

Leadership

The Warlord commands the Jaar with an iron fist. The Warlord of the Jaar is known as Bjorin Thykesnev. Bjorin Thykesnev has lead his people ever since they had settled in the new land in Gaderon. Bjorin is a strong leader and would rather be called a mere warrior. Quite noble for a Jaar, this one has what it takes to lead his people to glory.
