The Zal'nier (short for Zalaeinier) are a tall, humanoid species that are native to the outlying islands of Uloff. They are a secondary, non-dominant race that can be found globally. Zal'nier are highly intelligent, quick to adapt and learn, and have the ability to move objects with their minds (telekinesis). Despite their capabilities, Zal'nier are often disregarded by the dominant races, causing them to resort to pillaging and stealing from aforementioned races in order to aid themselves.

Often self-centered and keen on operating independently, Zal'nier travel far from their original homes in pursuit of building their own lives without the aid of a group. Decades of being cast aside by the dominant races, Zal'nier have adapted to a self-reliance mindset. Zal'nier are often seen as combative experts, incorporating unique, unpredictable combat techniques.

The Zal'nier are seen as a mob race in Age of Warscape, and are not playable.

Appearance[ | ]

The Zal'nier are humanoid in appearance, and have a wide range of skin pigmentations. They typically have a height of 6 feet in males, and 5 feet in females. Zal'nier also are easily identified by tentacle-like appendages that protrude from the back (sometimes the side) of one's head, which can vary from 2-6 appendages on an individual (sometimes more than six can grow) of varying sizes, though they typically are all the same size. These appendages serve as an extension to one's brain, which improves sensory, brain development, and intelligence. These also allow for them to foresee upcoming motions (such as attacks), discover where a sound is coming from, and learn much faster than any other race. These tentacles may also be stylized to resemble hair.

They can also be identified by their wide range of eye colors, small fangs used to help chew, slightly-sharper fingernails (compared to that of a Human's), long, pointed ears, inability to grow body hair (except eyebrows and eyelashes in both genders), and shadowing around the eyes. Zal'nier also commonly have stripes and patterns on their skin, which are typically in darker shade of their skin. Some Zal'nier, however, may not have any stripes or patterns on their skin at all.

Behavior[ | ]

Zal'nier, once reaching adulthood, adopt a self-reliance mindset, believing themselves to not need help from outside sources, including from other Zal'nier. At this point, Zal'nier are often aggressive to others, especially those who are not Zal'nier. They will often resort to quick violence to deter anybody, using telekinesis as an unpredictable weapon. Zal'nier are also known to pillage and steal from other races in order to supply themselves, often being food, clothing (including armor), and weaponry. They are often highly proficient with what they acquire due to their ability to quickly adapt.
